Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the nation's first of its kind, was created in 1890 to preserve and commemorate the battles that marked a major turning point during the Civil War. The Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center includes Civil War exhibits, the Fuller Gun Collection, an orientation film, maps of hiking and biking routes at the park, and information on how to experience the Civil War history offered at the park's other local units, which include Point Park located atop Lookout Mountain.
Bluff View Art District
Bluff View Art District is a historic neighborhood featuring an art gallery, plenty of gardens, plazas and courtyards where you can relax and rejuvenate. Chattanooga's first art district spans 1.5 city blocks and is atop stone cliffs that look over the Tennessee River.
Hunter Museum of American Art
The Hunter Museum focuses on American art from the Colonial period to the present day. The collection includes paintings, works on paper, sculpture, photography, mixed media, furniture and contemporary studio glass covering a range of styles and periods.
Located just one block from the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Gallery 1401 represents over 40 nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.
